Contact your Primary Care Provider (PCP) or Case Manager at your local VA clinic. Ask them for a referral for Medical Massage Therapy with Healistic Touch in Houston. To ensure your authorization is routed directly to us, give them them Lyric’s provider details:

2. The VA Authorizes
The VA will review your clinical necessity and process the request through the Community Care Network CNN). Once approved, TriWest or the VA will issue an official authorization for your care.

3.Schedule Your Appointment
Once the authorization is pushed through, we will get you on the schedule for your initial assessment and targeted treatment goals.

4.Receive Your Therapy
Show up, settle in, and let us handle the rest. We take care of all the insurance submission and medical billing behind the scenes so you can focus entirely on your recovery.

  • All medical massage services at Healistic Touch are 100% covered through the VA Community Care Network (CCN). To get started, request a referral for "Medical Massage Therapy" from your primary care provider (PCP) at your local VA clinic. The VA will review your clinical need, and once approved, TriWest will issue an authorization directly to our clinic.

    • Note: We cannot see you under the VA network until we receive this official authorization paperwork.

  • No. Under the VA Community Care contract, your authorized treatments are paid 100% in full by the Department of Veterans Affairs. There are zero co-pays, deductible fees, or hidden charges. Additionally, federal regulations prohibit our clinical providers from accepting standard monetary tips. If you wish to show extra gratitude, we invite you to contribute to our "Pay It Forward" donation box at the front desk, which sponsors free somatic respite services for local family caregivers through The Cocoon Collective.

  • Your first session is a dedicated 60-minute initial appointment. This includes a thorough structural and neurological assessment to map out your range of motion, muscle tension, and overcompensation patterns, followed by targeted hands-on medical massage therapy. Our goal is to look at the whole body—not just the single spot that hurts—to create a long-term plan for lasting relief and nervous system regulation

  • The baseline authorization issued by the VA typically covers 30-minute treatment blocks. If your condition requires more comprehensive time to treat safely and effectively, we will handle all the medical documentation and submit a Request for Service (RFS) upgrade to the VA to advocate for 60-minute extended sessions on your behalf.

  • We know that health and life can be unpredictable. While you will never be financially penalized or charged a fee for a missed appointment, our schedule is highly requested by fellow veterans. We kindly require a 24-hour notice for all cancellations so we can open that slot to someone on our waiting list. Per our attendance policy, consistent non-attendance (3 missed sessions) will require us to close your active file and return the authorization to he VA. Prior to that you may be prohibited from pre-booking future appointments.
